My Catholic beliefs influence all that I do and are a main contributing factor to my desire to help others.
I have made marked improvements with Confucius Institute Mandarin programs and can do the same for your program. I will give your Mandarin professors the insight and tools they need to more effectively teach students within your Confucius Institute. After an initial consultation, we’ll determine whether one-on-one training, workshops or a combination of both would be most beneficial to your program. I am confident your faculty will find me to be empathetic, patient and eager to provide professional development opportunities. In addition to improved job satisfaction for professors, you will see growth and greater student success within your Confucius Institute Mandarin programs. If your intention is to build a Mandarin program, I can be an asset to the process. I have taken part in numerous national faculty recruiting efforts from conducting searches to participating in hiring committees. I know what it takes to be an effective foreign language professor which is integral in making your world language programs thrive.
-Dr. Gregory DePies, Northern State University
I have had the privilege of making a positive impact within amazing institutions across the country.
As a Professor, I developed the Chinese and Linguistics program and was the Chair of the Faculty Hiring Committee. I was also a member of the Curriculum Committee. Within the Chinese program, students achieved great success and obtained prestigious scholarships from the Princeton-in-Beijing summer program.
As a highly effective faculty member within the Chinese and Linguistics department, I capitalized on my students unique strengths to maximize their learning experience. One student was so inspired with his own success, it prompted him to develop an award-winning app to learn Chinese faster.
I was recruited by the Mandarin’s program director to provide consulting services in an effort to ensure both the continuation and success of the program. Through one-on-one advising opportunities and various workshops, I made significant improvements in the program for faculty and students alike.
Originally from Taipei, I am a native Mandarin speaker and have achieved my education and experience while in the United States and abroad.
